3D printing and scanning


NS students and staff can now scan and print 3D items for course related or personal use. Teaching sections can also arrange for class groups to print projects.

New Multi Function Devices (MFDs) have arrived in NS libraries.

The new devices feature:

  • Find me Printing - collect your work from any device on any campus
  • Scan to your TAFE NSW email and to USB

To access these services, you will need to :

  • be currently enrolled or employed in TAFE NSW
  • know your TAFE NSW student or staff username and password
  • have a TAFEcard

You can use the services with just your username and password, but having your TAFEcard handy will make it quicker and easier for you.

Downloading and Printing Australian Standards

Standards Australia requires special copyright security software (FileOpen plug-in) to be installed to download and print standards.

You will also need Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro to read the files.

Binding facilities

Comb binding facilities are available in all our Northern Sydney Libraries. An A4 binding supply set can be purchased for $2.00. The set includes a comb, clear front cover and backing card. Comb sizes and backing card colours are limited.

The $2 will be debited from your TAFEcard. 

What you need

Printing and Scanning (via dedicated scanners)

Your current TAFE username and password to log onto computers and scanners

Copying; scanning via the MFD; collecting print jobs

Your current TAFEcard or your current TAFE username and password


Your current TAFEcard with funds loaded. You can add funds online.

3D Printing

An STL file approved by library staff and your  current TAFEcard with funds loaded.
